Recruiter

With direction and partnership from office leadership, the Recruiter is responsible for driving full‑cycle recruitment efforts for our Asheville District Office.This role directly supports the office’s growth strategy by building a strong pipeline of both full‑time recruits and interns aligned to Northwestern Mutual’s culture, values, and business objectives. The Recruiter serves as a strategic talent partner and brand ambassador while executing recruiting plans through sourcing, relationship management, community engagement, and disciplined process execution. Primary Responsibilities Execute recruiting strategies to meet annual contract and intern goals. Source, screen, and interview candidates for full‑time and internship roles. Own candidate relationships and communication from initial contact through contracting. Conduct first‑round interviews and coordinate next steps with leadership. Build referral pipelines through office leadership, representatives, alumni, and community partners. Participate in community organizations, networking events, and campus activities to promote the NM brand. Coordinate recruiting marketing efforts including social media, events, and presentations. Collaborate with other Northwestern Mutual recruiters to share leads and best practices. Accountability, Tracking & Analysis Report weekly recruiting activity and pipeline metrics to office leadership. Maintain accurate candidate records using NM recruiting tools (NM Talent) and systems. Analyze recruiting ratios to identify efficiencies and improvement opportunities. Prepare recruiting dashboards and activity reports for leadership meetings. Support contracting and licensing coordination as applicable. Performance Expectations & Metrics Minimum of 12 new contracted full‑time recruits per year (this number will be re‑evaluated each year). Minimum of 8 interns annually across fall, spring, and summer internship programs. Maintain a consistent recruiting pipeline aligned to long‑term office growth goals. Meet activity benchmarks for outreach, interviews, and community engagement. Interpersonal Savvy and relationship‑building ability. Results oriented and accountability. Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. Analytical mindset and business acumen. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience. 3+ years of recruiting, sales, or relationship‑driven professional experience preferred. Experience with sourcing platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and Handshake. Strong personal or professional network and community involvement.
