You'll play a key leadership role in ensuring residents receive high-quality, compassionate care every day.What You'll DoAs the Personal Care LPN, you'll oversee the daily nursing care operations in Personal Care, working closely with your team and the Clinical Manager to deliver excellent resident care.Act consistently as a team player and foster a collaborative environmentMake out daily assignments for resident care and assure completeness by end of shiftMake daily rounds of all residents and areas, recognizing, interpreting, and reporting conditions to the Clinical ManagerMake rounds with physicians and call as neededAdminister medications, oral and IM, as assigned dailyPerform treatments as ordered and routine tasks such as BPs, weights, and intake/outputOrder medications, diets, supplies, and equipment as neededComplete admission and discharge assessments on all residents as necessaryConduct team conferences at daily report as neededCheck equipment for cleanliness and condition, including med room, linen storage, and central bathing areasTeach and instruct nurse aides whenever necessaryAssist in hands-on resident care and answer call bells as neededMonitor lab testing requests/results and call or fax abnormal readings to physiciansReport all incidents and hospitalizations to Personal Care Managers immediatelyMaintain emergency equipment and suppliesEnter demographics and medications into the computer for admissions and medication changesAssess residents when ill or in pain and take immediate steps to resolveUpdate families when there is a change in resident statusMake rounds two times per shift and PRN in AspenSchedule coverage and cover call-offsCommunicate resident needs and care levels to outside agenciesMonitor and complete wound careTrain new employees, nurses, and unit clerksSupport resident physicians in the medical suiteConduct audits of medication carts and resident recordsAbide by the organization's code of conduct at all timesUphold the Frederick Living Mission Statement and demonstrate core values of respect, integrity, compassion, and excellenceProvide excellent customer service to residents, staff, volunteers, families, visitors, and vendorsMaintain resident and staff confidentiality and support person-centered care initiativesPerform other related duties as requiredWhat We're Looking ForGraduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing School with current licensure by examination in the Commonwealth of PennsylvaniaPrior experience in geriatric nursing preferredGood physical and mental health — must provide a satisfactory physician exam and TB Test or chest X-ray upon hire and as required thereafterStrong communication skills — must be able to understand, read, write, and speak English effectivelyAbility to grasp, kneel, pull, push, reach, stand, and walk long distances to perform essential job functionsAbility to lift weight in excess of 50 poundsAbility to feel, hear, see, smell, and speak adequately to perform essential job functionsAbility to work in inside environmental conditionsWillingness to work every other weekend and holidays as neededWillingness to assist in emergencies as neededWork EnvironmentMay be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, chemical and respiratory hazards, infection, odors, and behavior challenges associated with the aging processWill be exposed to animals and their careWhy You'll Love Working at Frederick LivingAt Frederick Living, you'll be part of a compassionate, purpose-driven team.
