Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Quality and Safety team in the role of Infection Preventionist. The Infection Preventionist conducts targeted infection surveillance activities, including the investigation of infections and the response to outbreaks among patients and/or personnel. The Infection Preventionist recommends and provides education on appropriate preventive measures to control the spread of infection and promote a safe healthcare environment. The Infection Preventionist also ensures compliance with recommendations and standards established by regulatory and accrediting agencies. Key Relationships Reports to: Manager-Infection Prevention Candidate Qualifications Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience is required. Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience. Prior experience in a Healthcare related field is preferred. Requires Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or Associate-Infection Prevention and Control (a-IPC) certification within 2 years of hire. CIC is preferred. Knowledge of infectious disease, epidemiology, asepsis and immunology, medical procedures, or medical and environmental microbiology is preferred Indiana University Health is unlike any other healthcare system and we're looking for team members who share the things that matter most to us.
