The program must be accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association. Display evidence of interest in continuing education within the profession PTA reports directly to immediate supervisory PT./ppTypical Physical Demands: Assistant assigned must be able to perform the following physical job functions with or without reasonable accommodation./pulliLift up to 10lbs overhead occasionally/liliLift up to 50lbs from floor to knuckle occasionally/liliLift up to 25lbs from knuckle to shoulder occasionally/liliPivot transfer up to 150lbs occasionally/liliCarry up to 50lbs, 200ft frequently/liliPush/pull 75lbs, 100ft frequently/liliFine hand manipulation, bilaterally continuously/liliHeavy grasp, bilaterally frequently/liliVisually acuity connect to 20/20/liliTactile discrimination/liliStand up to 2 hours frequently/liliComprehensible verbal communication skills continuously/liliDrive up to 2 hours/liliLegible written communication continuously/liliSquat, stoop, or kneel up to 15 minutes occasionally/liliSit up to 2 hours occasionally/li/ulpTypical Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations./ppDuties:/pulliConduct treatment plans as established by PT under supervision of PT/liliCommunicate with PT, rehab team members and/or referring physician regarding patients treatment program/liliMaintain weekly (objective) progress notes, following documentation guidelines/liliMaintain accurate daily attendance records/liliComplete daily time logs, modality sheets, Medicare logs, change slips and any other required paperwork/liliSupervise supportive staff in clerical and transporting duties as assigned/liliMust follow all established policies and procedures of the company/liliCommunicate the Physical Therapists designed plan of care to physician/liliThe assistant will also take a telephone order from the physician to certify that plan of care or change the plan of care.
