Director - Investment Origination & Client Engagement (Commercial Litigation Finance)

Statera Capital is hiring a Director for investment origination and client engagement. While primarily responsible for all aspects of Statera’s outbound and inbound deal flow origination, the Director is broadly involved across our commercial litigation finance business.

Statera was founded in 2019 by a former AmLaw litigation partner and public company CFO who identified a gap in the litigation finance market – and built a firm dedicated to solving that need. Specifically, Statera fills a crucial need by specializing in commercial litigation disputes requiring $500,000 to $4 million in capital – matters that may be otherwise too capital-intensive for contingency but are often overlooked by other funders.

The Candidate

Statera has built an exceptional reputation and strong relationships with leading commercial law firms and corporate legal departments nationwide. Your job is to build on that foundation – deepening existing relationships and developing new ones that generate high-quality investment opportunities.

You will build credibility with attorneys, in-house legal teams, finance professionals, and industry participants. You will help educate the market, craft thoughtful, tailored solutions for our clients, and execute on Statera’s client engagement strategy.

Responsibilities

• Network with attorneys, finance professionals, in-house legal departments, and industry participants to develop and maintain relationships.
• Present Statera’s value proposition to potential clients (e.g., through direct and one-to-many presentations, conferences, podcasts, CLEs, etc.). 
• Author firm-specific and industry-related content and secure earned media coverage.
• Manage Statera’s inbound investment inquiries and pipeline.
• Work closely with Statera’s external marketing director to manage Statera’s day-to-day social media, email marketing campaigns, CRM, website, and other business development / client engagement efforts and implement new strategies to generate deal flow. 
• Track regulatory, market, and political trends that impact the legal industry and our strategy.
• Participate in Statera’s collaborative investment selection process and help develop bespoke litigation finance solutions consistent with Statera’s investment parameters and philosophy.
• Work closely with all other facets of our business.

Requirements & Other Qualifications

• Dynamic personality and natural aptitude for networking and building relationships. Strong executive presence.
• Proven experience presenting professional services to leading law firms and/or corporations.
• Independent self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and winning culture.
• Ability to draft concise and professional industry-related content.
• High integrity and sound professional judgment.
• Impeccable reputation and impressive academic and professional credentials.
• Enthusiasm for the value proposition that Statera and litigation finance present.
• Flexibility with travel and work schedule.
• Juris Doctor or MBA from top institution (active license to practice law is not required). 
• Commercial litigation experience preferred, but not required.
