Production Manager

Our Charles City, IA manufacturing client is looking to hire a Production Manager to their 1st shift operations. The Production Manager will monitor the cost and effectiveness of production activities to optimize resources, achieve volume, quality, and manufacturing standards. The Manager manages the production output plan (daily, monthly) to be optimally achieved and leads the subordinate employees to maximize production KPI´s.

Job Qualifications:

• Leads, directs, evaluates, and develops a team of production / shift managers to ensure that the plant / operation meets its established targets and standards.

• Manages the development of plant employees and plant succession planning activities.

• Implements tools for daily continuous improvement activities – Manufacturing Excellence tools.

• Supports lean culture development using tools for continuous improvement – Manufacturing Excellence pillars.

• Manages and organizes activities in the plant / operation in order to fulfill the planned tasks of production, economic and technical as well as tasks in the area of IMS system.

• Responsible for the compliance of company documents with the requirements of Criterial Standards.

• Participates in realization of internal and external audits

• Lead, direct and control the day-to-day activities of the production plant / operation - to achieve the short and medium-term financial and operating objectives set by the overall corporate business plan.

• Manage and secure functionality of Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and Excellence programs

• Ensure compliance with legal and other regulations, IMS principles.

• Respect and participate in building and maintaining IMS system.

• Organize, manage and control the work of subordinate employees, evaluates their work performance and work results.

• Responsible for determining the causes of the non-conformities and realization of the immediate measures and corrective actions.

• Responsible for observing training dates, especially in the field of occupational safety and fire protection of subordinate employees.

• Participate in the planned educational events according to the training plan.

• Collaborate with different departments to meet the assigned production tasks and requirements.

Education and Experience Required:

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Management (preferred)

• 3-5+ years experience in a Production Supervisor or Production Manager role.

• 2+ years of manufacturing environment experience.
