Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Pediatric Registered Nurses (RNs) for a 3x12 hour day shift position, covering from 07:00 to 19:00. This opportunity is available starting November 30, and applicants must be willing to accommodate required float duties.

Key Details

• Shift: 3x12 Hours Days (07:00 - 19:00)
• Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years (3 years preferred)
• Floating Requirement: Yes, to NICU & PICU and Eating Disorder Unit. Orientation of 6 hours to float units will be provided.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required
• Certifications: BLS, PALS
• Experience managing pediatric patients, including those with respiratory, surgical, neurological, and infectious conditions

Unit Information

This is a 24-bed unit that accommodates patients from newborns to seventeen years old. This includes an epilepsy video telemetry monitoring section with 4 dedicated beds. The unit experiences a high admission rate, with daily visits ranging from 4 to 26.

Staffing and Patient Ratios

• General Staffing: All RN staff, no CNAs utilized
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 during the day and night shifts

Orientation and Additional Information

New hires will undergo 24 hours of orientation, which may include up to 16 hours of modules that are essential for the role. These modules are included in the orientation schedule and will be billed accordingly.

Location

This position is located in San Diego, CA.

Patient Population

Care will be provided to patients from newborn through seventeen years of age, addressing a range of general medical/surgical needs. Staff will also interact with patients in the designated eating disorder unit.
