Director, Business Controller

The Director - Business Controller is an essential member of the Amptek leadership team contributing to the development and execution of the business’s annual strategic plan. This position is a senior staff level role at an AMETEK Business, and the individual will play a key role in guiding the strategic direction and leading the efficient execution of activities to profitably grow the business. This position reports directly to the Amptek Business Manager and functionally to the DVP Business Unit Controller.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Financial LeadershipDrive the organization to achieve short- and long-term business objectives, including revenue growth, EBITDA performance, and working capital improvementsSupport the development of the annual budget and long-term strategic planPartner with product management and R&D leaders to enhance product lifecycle planning and optimize R&D investment strategyFinancial Reporting & AnalysisCoordinate and perform monthly close activities, including all HFM updatesPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsDeliver forecast updates and perform analysis of actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior yearTeam Leadership & CollaborationLead, manage, and develop the local finance teamSupport global subsidiaries in resolving major business and financial mattersCollaborate cross-functionally across the organizationCompliance & ControlsOversee SOX requirements and ensure audit complianceEnsure accurate recording of revenue and expenses in accordance with ASC 606 and US GAAPMaintain compliance with local statutory accounting practicesSystems & Process OversightEnsure ERP and financial systems strategy supports both current operations and long-term business needsRequirements Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceMBA, CPA, or CMA preferredMinimum of 9–10 years of accounting or finance experiencePrior supervisory experience requiredTechnical KnowledgeStrong knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)Experience with financial systems and reporting tools, including Excel, Word, Intuitive, QuickBooks, and Hyperion (reporting and query writing preferred)Skills & CompetenciesExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and geographiesDemonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs.
