The East Interstate Family Medicine Clinic is looking for a Medical Assistant to join their team in a full time role! This role will work with various age groups and diagnosis. Apply your scope of practice to its fullest with the vast amount of skills utilized with the populations we serve. As a Medical Assistant in our clinic, you will play a key role in supporting providers and ensuring a positive patient experience. Daily responsibilities include rooming patients, recording vital signs, documenting medical history, assisting with exams and procedures, administering injections, and collecting lab draws.

We're seeking a caring, responsible, and empathetic Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) who will be involved in assisting with patient care for all ages in an ambulatory setting. The Medical Assistant will be an advocate for the patient's needs by collaborating with both the patient and their care team to ensure that the patient is comfortable throughout their healthcare journey at Sanford. Responsibilities include:

• Collects subjective and objective health status data from the patient or caregiver and communicates data to healthcare provider
• Follows through on the patient's plan of care under the direction of the provider
• Communicates the provider's written instructions for care to the patient, or caregiver
• Participates in care for patients, across the lifespan, in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, treatment, and follow-up as patients move in and out of care settings
• Obtains vital signs, prepares patients for examinations, observes and reports patient's signs or symptoms, and performs point of care testing

Qualifications include:

• Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
• Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA)
• Registration (RMA) obtained through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) also acceptable
• Additional state requirements include: North Dakota (ND) registration as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment
