Point of Care Laboratory Technologist (Evenings)

Location: San Leandro, California
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Schedule: Monday – Friday | Evening Shift
Hours: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM

Responsibilities:

• Perform point-of-care laboratory testing including:
• • Chemistry
  • Hematology
  • Urinalysis
  • Molecular Testing
  • Coagulation
• Receive and process specimens from couriers and phlebotomists
• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection
• Enter patient demographics and laboratory orders into the LIS system
• Conduct quality control procedures and maintain QC documentation
• Verify abnormal and critical laboratory results prior to reporting
• Monitor STAT turnaround times and workflow efficiency
• Troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and technical issues
• Maintain inventory and documentation compliance
• Operate and transport the mobile laboratory van when required
• Follow all safety, infection control, and laboratory compliance standards

Qualifications:-

Required:

• Active California licensure as one of the following:
• • LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse)
  • MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician)
  • CLS (Clinical Laboratory Scientist)
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• High School Diploma or GED
• Familiarity with laboratory workflows and procedures
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption

Preferred:

• Previous laboratory testing experience
• Phlebotomy experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy

Compensation & Benefits:

Pay Range: $26.00 – $32.00 per hour

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and laboratory materials
• Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and equipment handling
• Ability to push/pull equipment weighing up to 50–100 lbs using assistance tools
