Summary A Front of the House / Cashier is responsible for accurately and efficiently handling all cash and credit transactions while adhering to established policies and procedures. Key duties include welcoming guests with a smile, promptly acknowledging them, and ensuring satisfaction as they leave. Qualifications Prior restaurant experience is required. Strong customer service, communication, and time management skills. Exceptional attention to detail. Hard-working, team-oriented, friendly, honest, and committed to providing excellent customer service. Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English. Ability to initiate and maintain professional and friendly conversations. A professional and approachable appearance that appeals to guests. Strong math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Flexibility in scheduling, including availability on holidays, during shifts, and for major events. Problem-solving skills, with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle both abstract and concrete variables. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Greet and welcome guests warmly, acknowledge them promptly and ensure satisfaction as they leave. Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu, including items, prices, and recommendations. Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing complaints, providing guidance, and sharing relevant information. Handle cash, credit, and check transactions with accuracy. Perform cash management duties using the POS system, including recording receipts and balancing registers. Open and close cash registers, organize and count money, and adhere strictly to company policies and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized cashier station. Assist in stocking and organizing shelves as needed. Must have reliable access to a mobile phone for communication regarding shift schedules, updates, and potential on-call availability. The ability to receive texts, calls, or app notifications in a timely manner is essential to the role. Physical Demands Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Extensive periods of standing without breaks. Constant walking, standing, and use of hands while performing duties. Ability to work irregular hours under high pressure and stress during busy periods. Work Environment The work environment is often wet, hot, and noisy.
