Salary: $170,000 annually

Position Overview

• Reliance One, Inc. is partnering with an established manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Plant Controller to support financial operations at one of its production facilities.
• The Plant Controller will work closely with plant leadership to drive financial performance, improve cost visibility, and support operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, account reconciliations, and analysis of financial results.
• Assist with the preparation and management of annual operating budgets, financial forecasts, and ongoing performance projections.
• Monitor manufacturing costs, including direct labor, materials, overhead, and production variances.
• Partner with plant operations, production, and supply chain teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability.
• Maintain and analyze standard costing structures, inventory valuations, and manufacturing-related financial transactions.
• Prepare financial reports, operational performance metrics, and variance analyses to support management decisions.
• Support inventory management processes, including physical inventory counts, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Assist with financial audits, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Provide guidance and support to accounting personnel while promoting consistency and accountability within the finance function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least five years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, standard costing, inventory management, and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting monthly close activities, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems and manufacturing accounting processes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial results and communicate findings to operational leadership.
• Experience with internal controls, audit preparation, and general accounting principles.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, hands-on approach.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• CPA, CMA, or an advanced degree is a plus.
