Clinical Pharmacist Lead - IDS

Overview Our team at Siteman Cancer Center is hiring a full-time IDS Clinical Pharmacist Lead. The lead clinical pharmacist on the IDS team evaluates patient treatment plans and verifies or dispenses orders in compliance with the clinical trial protocol. Work Schedule: Mon - Fri Days No weekends or holidays Role Purpose Assess, monitor, initiate, and modify medication use according to patient condition and age‑specific criteria. Serve as a liaison between the pharmacy department and other health care practitioners in matters related to a specialized area of pharmacy practice. Supervise and direct supportive personnel. Counsel and educate to promote optimal drug therapy. Direct and assist in procurement, storage, distribution, and disposal of medications. Responsibilities Evaluates medication orders for appropriateness based on patient condition, organ function, and concomitant therapies to promote optimal patient outcomes and documents all activities and communication. Directs and manages workflow in a focused area of pharmacy practice, overseeing pharmacists, technicians, interns, and volunteers to ensure accuracy in accordance with departmental procedures and federal and state regulations. Participates in the delivery of educational programs within and outside the pharmacy department and serves on committees at the health service organization. Serves as a lead on the development, review, and implementation of policies and procedures. Provides advanced level support to the professional, operational, and patient care aspects of the pharmacy department, identifying and implementing improvements to the medication use process.
