Eligible candidates will work with a great team, interact with students, and support children each day! Core Responsibilities Meal Service: Assist with food preparation and serve breakfast and lunch to students and staff. Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively alongside other food service employees during peak student serving times. Kitchen Safety & Hygiene: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and recipes exactly while using knives and slicers safely. Compliance: Maintain meticulous handwashing techniques, proper glove usage, and wear required hairnets and aprons. Record Keeping: Keep accurate daily logs of food items and food preparation temperatures. Logistics: Transport food items and supplies from the main kitchen to the serving kitchen using carts down the hallway. Professionalism: Maintain a friendly attitude, clean personal hygiene, and strictly protect student and staff confidentiality. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Physical Labor: Stand for long periods on cement floors, twist, squat, and perform highly repetitive motions (such as using a serving dipper). Heavy lifting: Lift objects over 50 pounds, lift items over your head, and safely squat to retrieve heavy objects from the floor. Environment: Operate efficiently in a noisy, fast‑paced kitchen environment. Temperature Shifts: Handle hot pans, retrieve hot heavy items from commercial ovens, and work in a hot, humid environment or cold walk‑in freezers for short durations.
