Job Summary:
The position is for an Operating Room Open Heart Nurse at a high-acuity trauma center located in Los Angeles, California. This 13-week assignment requires candidates to bring their license on the first day and involves working in a busy, research-oriented environment with a focus on complex cardiac and general cases.

Job Details:

• Location: Los Angeles, California
• Schedule: 4x10 Days shift, starting at 6:45 a.m. (early cases may start at 6:00 a.m.), ending at 5:15 p.m., with minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: 2+ years of travel experience, 4+ years in high-acuity hospitals (including 2+ recent years), 1+ years of travel experience, valid license, current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, 0 years of minimum experience, Cerner Electronic Medical Record type
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience at large academic centers like UCLA or Cedars, ability to support surgeons, handle complex cases, and adapt quickly to high-volume, complex surgeries such as heart transplants and redo procedures
• Additional Information: Must support high-acuity cardiac surgeries including open heart, valve replacements, CABG, intra-aortic balloon pump placement, and complex neuro cases. No holidays required, but additional shifts may be necessary. Vaccinations required include the current seasons flu vaccine.
• Shift & On-Call: 4x10 days, start at 6:45 a.m., end at 5:15 p.m. On-call/standby required within 30 minutes of notification, with days off varying based on coverage needs.
