Overview

Location: This role is based at a community hospital situated in Fort Benning, GA.

Position: Part-Time Emergency Medicine Physician

We are in search of a proficient and experienced Emergency Medicine Physician to commence work as soon as possible, ideally by spring or summer of 2026. The selected candidate will handle a diverse array of cases, often characterized by ambiguous symptoms or overlapping medical conditions, serving a patient demographic that spans from children to the elderly. This position demands a high level of skill, insight, and independent judgment to ensure accurate diagnosis, treatment, and referrals within a dynamic emergency department environment.

• Ideal candidates should be Board Certified in emergency medicine or have completed residency training with a minimum of four years of experience in an emergency room setting.
• Compensation: $123,000 - $350,000 (Prorated) for part-time work.

Responsibilities:

Key Duties:

• Triage and Diagnosis: Act as a Medical Officer in the Emergency Room (ER), assessing patients with a range of complex conditions. Utilize significant independent judgment to accurately diagnose and treat individuals presenting with vague or overlapping symptoms.
• Critical Decision-Making: Make urgent, critical decisions and initiate treatment for challenging emergency situations, including heart attacks, head injuries, lacerations, seizures, and other life-threatening conditions.
• Direct Patient Treatment: Address the physical needs of patients (e.g., administering IV fluids for heat exhaustion, prescribing medications) or identify and refer patients to specialists for further evaluation and treatment as necessary.
• Surgical Procedures: Conduct minor surgical interventions as needed, such as incision and drainage (I&D) of abscesses, hemorrhoids, and suturing of lacerations.
• Leadership and Supervision: Provide instruction and oversight to other medical staff in patient care and treatment, serving as a Senior Specialist and mentor within the department.
• Medication Management: Administer and prescribe appropriate medications and treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of each patient.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation of all relevant medical information and patient histories in the Composite Health Care System (CHCS).
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited institution.
• Residency: Completion of an accredited residency program in emergency medicine.
• Experience:
• Demonstrated experience as a Board Certified emergency medicine physician or residency-trained with a minimum of four years in an emergency room setting (Family Medicine and potentially Internal Medicine may also be considered if they meet the experience requirement).
• Postgraduate clinical experience in emergency medicine is mandatory.
• Licensure and Certification:
• Possession of a valid state medical license and current registration to practice.
• Board certification or eligibility through ABEM or AOBEM.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Certifications in ACLS, PALS, and ATLS are highly preferred.
