Registered Nurse (RN) - OR

Job Summary:

Primarily responsible for applying the nursing process to the care of veteran patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room.

• Assuring that appropriate documentation reflects assessment of patient needs, interdisciplinary treatment plans, clinical intervention, and evaluation of patients' responses to treatments.
• Responsible for assigning and evaluating the work of non-nursing direct care providers assigned to the operating room.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Level I trauma experience.
• Able to scrub is a plus.
• Must be able to circulate endovascular, spine, neuro, ortho, ortho trauma.

Required Education:

• ASN

Preferred Education:

• BSN

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• BLS - AHA
• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:

• ACLS-AHA
• PALS

Work Schedule:

• 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM 3 x 12
• Every Other Weekend Required
• Holidays Required as needed
• On-Call Requirement: after 90 days
• Float Requirement: to ASC as needed

Scrubs will be provided.
