Technical Manager

Summary Description While reporting to the Plant Manager, you will serve as the primary technical resource for film characteristics, adhesive capabilities, printing and lamination expertise, and processing technology. You will also collaborate with sales/technical representatives and customers to commercialize new opportunities, running trial processes that confirm the plant’s long‑term capability to produce functional products. What You’ll Be Doing Act as the primary technical resource for film characteristics, adhesive capabilities, printing and lamination expertise, and processing technology. Lead the plant technical team and work closely with the divisional R&D group and account technical representatives. Supply customers with trial material promptly while minimizing trial expenses and visit customers to support trial runs. Establish technical product specifications, process conditions, and quality testing protocols for all products manufactured. Maintain plant technical information—including manufacturing specifications and key quality tests—in the plant computer system and manage change control and process changes. Participate in quality and productivity improvement initiatives that reduce costs related to raw material supply, product structure design, and manufacturing techniques. Coordinate customer, internal, and GMP/Product Safety audits with the plant quality team. Develop root‑cause and corrective actions with customers for quality concerns or issues preventing product run. Audit raw material and equipment suppliers. Position based in Morristown, TN – 100% onsite. Qualifications BS degree in a technical field (required). 5+ years of experience in adhesive and/or extrusion lamination (preferred). 5+ years of experience in rotogravure printing (preferred). Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing training/background is a plus.
