The primary role of the turndown attendants is to provide turndown service and clean guest rooms, ensuring the hotel's established standards of cleanliness. The turndown service adds a memorable touch to the guests' stay, and the attendant puts effort into anticipating their unique needs. They are responsible for reporting any maintenance deficiencies and handling guest requests or complaints, ensuring the confidentiality and security of all guest rooms.

Core responsibilities include using correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements; transporting turndown cart with cleaning supplies, turndown/guest room amenities and linens to the assigned guest room and position securely; providing turndown service to designated rooms on the assignment sheet; emptying trash containers and ashtrays; removing all dirty terry and replacing with clean par to designated layout; replacing soiled bed sheets and making up bed when necessary; turning down bed to hotel standards; placing specified items in designated locations; setting the radio to designated station and volume; washing dishes and glasses, setting up coffee and coffee maker for the morning as per standards; lowering shades; setting lighting and thermostat to designated levels; notifying Room Service of trays/tables/items in the room; rehanging/refold clothes; removing soil, dirt, soap build-up and hair from bathroom mirrors, vanity, sink, toilet, shower walls, bathtub, shower, and floor; replacing facial, toilet tissue and bathroom amenities in correct amount and location; cleaning guest rooms as assigned following all departmental procedures and standards as specified in Room Attendant; updating status of rooms cleaned and turned down on the assignment sheet; returning and restocking closets at the end of the shift; ensuring security of any assigned guest room keys; reporting any damages or maintenance problems to the supervisor; turning over any lost and found items from guest rooms to the supervisor; making up cribs and rollaway beds; helping fold linens in the laundry; restocking housekeeping attendant's closets.

Essential qualifications include a genuine affinity for interacting meaningfully and positively with guests; ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers, and management to their understanding; prior hotel experience; prior guest relations training; knowledge of proper chemical handling; professional, polished service focused on exceeding expectations and attention to detail.

Skills include ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperation, and work with a minimum of supervision; ability to be a clear thinker and remain calm under pressure; ability to maintain sensitivity and discretion with guest privacy; ability to work cohesively with other departments and individuals as part of a team; ability to prioritize and follow up on work assignments.

Physical demands include frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting the property. The constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity. Occasional need to stand for long periods of time. Lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. frequently and 25 lbs. occasionally. Vision requirements: the constant need to view small print. Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms' reach. Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on the telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to the general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment. Most tasks are performed indoors. Temperature can be extreme but is usually moderate. Noise level is usually moderate. Frequently works near moving/mechanical parts. The employee will be exposed to cleaning fluids and chemicals necessary to perform duties.
