Responsibilities:
- Develop 3D models, assemblies, surfaces, and 2D technical drawings using CATIA V5
- Work from customer requirements, specifications, and initial concepts to develop production-ready designs
- Create detailed drawings, specifications, and part lists
- Support product development from concept through testing, validation, and production
- Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify and resolve design issues
- Participate in design reviews and cross-functional project meetings
- Make design modifications based on testing, manufacturing feedback, or customer requirements
- Support prototype and sample builds as needed
- Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding design requirements and project updates
- Occasionally travel to customer or manufacturing locations as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in product, mechanical, or automotive design
- Technical degree, CAD certification, or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong experience with CATIA V5
- Experience with 3D modeling, surfacing, assemblies, and 2D drafting
- UG NX experience is a plus
- Experience with Teamcenter or another PLM system
- Experience working with engineered components or assemblies within an automotive, transportation, or similar manufacturing environment
- Understanding of product testing, validation, and manufacturing processes
- Strong mechanical problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams
- Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems; PLEX experience is a plus
