SAFETY SENSITIVE: Yes, Subject to random drug testing per the Athens-Clarke County Drug and Alcohol Ordinance. Purpose of Job The purpose of this job is to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components associated with the operation and maintenance of Athens-Clarke County electrical systems, equipment and components. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, installing and repairing existing electrical systems, performing new wiring projects, inspecting equipment for code compliance; performing preventative maintenance; maintaining records, and performing additional tasks as assigned. WORK SCHEDULE: Monday- Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm
May be required to work on religious holidays.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Must work cooperatively with others.

Vocational or Technical Diploma with two years of electrical construction experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Valid driver's license required.
Possession of a Georgia State Unrestricted Electrical Contractor's License is preferred.
One year of supervisory experience preferred as applicable for assigned Department. Essential Duties, Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Designs, installs, repairs and maintains new and existing electrical equipment, power circuits, control circuits, and lighting circuits, including three phase power systems and analog and digital motor control circuits.
Reads and interprets electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder diagrams, and blue prints.
Troubleshoots electrical systems.
Uses volt-ohm meters, current meters, watt-hour meters, phase rotation meters, and megometers.
Uses infra-red temperature gauge in diagnosis of electrical equipment and HVAC systems.
Repairs and replaces lighting fixtures for all buildings and facilities for Athens-Clarke County.
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance for all equipment, and maintains related records.
Operates and maintains generators.
Operates various types of heavy equipment such as ditching machines, bucket trucks, and backhoes.
Inspects and maintains theft and fire alarm systems, telecommunication and data system cables and connections.
Coordinate work with various contractors and inspects new electrical installations for code compliance. Maintains inventory of supplies and parts, ordering replacements when needed.
Maintains, repairs, and calibrates flow meters and sampling devices.
Maintains inventory of supplies and parts, ordering replacements when needed.
Responds to emergency service requests as a participant in division's on-call program.
Works closely with other Maintenance personnel in multi-craft projects.
