Emergency Department Registered Nurse - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) with 36/48 hours per week option. Every other weekend and holidays required as scheduled.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong clinical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse patient population, ranging from infants to geriatrics. This role requires adaptability to complex diagnoses and the ability to float within the specialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients in a high-volume emergency department.
• Assist in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor patients' responses.
• Perform triage and prioritize care based on patient needs and acuity.
• Engage in patient education and support families during treatment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal care delivery.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain competency.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Emergency Medicine required; 2 years preferred.
• Active RN license in the state of Maryland or Compact license.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI.
• Strong skills in emergency nursing procedures including triage and acute care management.
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
