GRINDER

We are seeking a skilled Grinder to join our aluminum fabrication team. This role is responsible for preparing, smoothing, and finishing aluminum components using grinding tools and related equipment. The ideal candidate has experience working in a fabrication or manufacturing environment and understands the unique characteristics of aluminum.

Responsibilities Grind, deburr, and smooth aluminum parts to meet quality and dimensional specifications Operate hand grinders, bench grinders, sanders, and finishing tools safely and efficiently Inspect parts for defects, sharp edges, and surface inconsistencies Read and follow work orders, fabrication drawings, and supervisor instructions Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Meet daily production goals while maintaining high-quality standards Work collaboratively with welders, fabricators, and quality control teams Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements Skills Experience in aluminum fabrication or manufacturing Familiarity with blueprint reading or basic measurement tools Knowledge of surface finishing standards for aluminum Experience with sanding, polishing, or buffing aluminum components Education No Degree Required Experience 1-4 years Qualifications Experience grinding or finishing metal parts (aluminum preferred) Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and finishing equipment Good attention to detail and quality Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move aluminum parts as needed Reliable work history and good work ethic Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Standing, bending, and repetitive motion for extended periods Ability to work in a fabrication shop environment with noise, dust, and metal debris Working hours: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM Pay offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. In addition, Spherion offers a comprehensive benefits package, including: medical, prescription, dental, vision, AD&D, and life insurance offerings, short-term disability, and a 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
