Compensation Analyst

Location: Bakersfield, CA (Relocation Assistance) Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt Compensation Starting at: $85,000 Position Overview Legacy Staffing is seeking an experienced Compensation Analyst on behalf of a healthcare client. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining compensation programs that support employee recruitment, retention, and organizational competitiveness. The Compensation Analyst will evaluate positions, conduct market pricing analyses, maintain salary structures, and provide guidance on compensation-related decisions while ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and compensation practices. Key Responsibilities Compensation Analysis & Job Evaluation Develop and maintain job descriptions for positions throughout the organization, ensuring alignment between job duties and compensation structures. Partner with leadership to gather and document job-related information, including responsibilities, qualifications, and organizational requirements. Evaluate positions to determine exempt/non-exempt classifications and appropriate salary ranges. Conduct market pricing and benchmarking using compensation surveys and industry data to ensure competitive pay practices. Develop and maintain job classifications, salary grades, and compensation structures. Compensation Program Administration Review and approve salary recommendations related to hiring, promotions, transfers, reclassifications, and other personnel actions. Assist in planning, coordinating, and administering salary adjustment programs. Process compensation-related changes within HRIS systems and maintain accurate records. Track and participate in compensation surveys to stay current with market trends and best practices. Reporting & HR Support Prepare and present compensation and job analysis reports for leadership review. Manage personnel requisition processes, including workflow oversight, reporting, and process enhancements. Advise leadership on compensation policies, employment regulations, benefits programs, and HR procedures. Support additional HR initiatives and projects as assigned. Compliance & Organizational Participation Maintain compliance with HIPAA requirements and confidentiality standards. Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal employment regulations. Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement initiatives. Utilize HRIS and other technology platforms to support organizational operations. Assist with audit preparation and support regulatory and accreditation reviews. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or comparable certification required. Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Compensation Analyst or in a related compensation role. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and HRIS platforms. Experience conducting compensation research, market analysis, and salary benchmarking. Knowledge of compensation regulations, employment laws, and HR best practices preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Sound decision-making and critical-thinking capabilities. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
