Pharmacy Fulfillment TechnicianThe Pharmacy Fulfillment Technician is responsible for preparing, filling and distributing prescriptions according to client orders/specifications, maintaining equipment and inventory in the pharmacy and record keeping related to patient and drug information.Must be licensed in the State of IndianaResponsibilitiesAssist the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling and dispensing of medications, supplies, and the provision of pharmaceutical care.Communicate with Louisville Knipper/CareTria Pharmacy (LKP) representatives as necessary to ensure medication compliance, medication and supply inventory, and overall coordination of care and as applicable.Follow HIPAA and privacy law guidelines, and any other local or federal laws.Follow and aid in enforcement of all company policies and procedures.Maintain all records including prescription logs and related files.Assist Inventory Specialist with expiration date review of all medications on a scheduled basis and prepare outdated medication for destruction according to procedure.Perform Quality Assurance checks on automated technology specific to pharmacy equipment and shipping requirements.Maintain a clean and orderly work site.Perform routine and professional pharmacy functionsThe above duties are meant to be representative of the position and not all-inclusive.QualificationsMINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:High School diploma or equivalentIndiana requires a licensed pharmacy technician to be over the age of 18Indiana Pharmacy Technician License, or commitment to complete the 'technician in training' requirements approved by the Indiana Board of Pharmacy, within one year of hire datePREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:One (1) year of previous specialty pharmacy technician experience with exposure to fulfillment of prescription ordersNationally certified through the PTCB or another approved certifying agencyInventory or logistics control experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Knowledge of medical terminology (including sig codes and Roman numerals), brand and generic names of medications, and general pharmacy terminologyComputer literacy to include operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, presentation software, communication and collaboration tools, and Adobe PDF or comparableAbility to read, write, speak, and understand the English languageExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent problem-solving and organization skillsAttention to detailAbility to perform repetitious work accuratelyAbility to learn from a variety of techniquesAbility to follow established process flowsBasic math skillsAbility to recognize subtle differences in names and numbersAbility to work effectively in highly stressful situations, exhibiting flexibility in changing situationsWork independently with little supervision and meet daily expectationsPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Location of job activities 100% insideNoise and / or vibrations exposureReaching (overhead), handling, and feelingStand, bend, stoop, and sit for prolonged periods of timeLift, carry, and move up to 40 poundsPush/pull up 50 poundsSufficient to operate standard office equipmentHand-eye coordination and manual dexterityThe expected base pay range for this position is $18- $20 per hr. The actual compensation for the position may vary based on market differences and on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and can vary based on location and/or work schedule.
