Assistant Diesel Mechanic – Job Description Preferred Candidate Preferred candidate will have: Mechanical knowledge Driver’s License Able to do 2‑week training in Arizona Pay and Benefits Starting salary of $25 per hour Stable hours for financial stability Boot allowance worth an additional $200 Tool Allowance is $2000 per year Comprehensive healthcare coverage including dental, vision and prescription coverage Annual Education Assistance Benefit available for team members Company‑matched 401(k) Adoption assistance and parent support Hours and Location Monday – Friday every week 2nd Shift 4:00 pm Every other Saturday Stable hours supporting work‑life balance Repair / maintenance shop at the Humble, TX hauling site Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment. Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts. Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs). Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns. Conduct safety checks on vehicles – safety is the company’s top priority. Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times. Assisting senior Mechanics in project work. Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Qualifications Valid drivers license with a clean driving record. Be over 18 years of age. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical.
