Water/Wastewater Engineer

Hydraterra Professionals (HtP) is a growing civil and environmental engineering consulting firm specializing in water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects throughout Pennsylvania. Our team provides innovative solutions for treatment facilities, pumping stations, collection systems, distribution systems, storage facilities, and GIS-based asset management. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented engineer to support the planning, design and construction of public and private water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Job Description:
The Engineer will be responsible for the execution of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from conceptual planning through final design and construction. Infrastructure will include water and wastewater distribution, collection, conveyance, treatment, and storage systems. Communication skills will be essential as the Engineer will be expected to communicate effectively with engineers, scientists, designers, and other team members. Communication of project status through written and oral reports will be required.
This position offers the opportunity to advance into a Senior Engineer or Project Manager as experience and responsibilities increase. A thorough understanding of water and wastewater systems is required.

Key Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain a complete set of electronic project documents for all assigned projects and ensure project records are maintained throughout project execution.
• Prepare design calculations, technical reports, permit applications, and drawings to support HtP clients and communities.
• Work with Senior Managers to develop scopes of work and budgets for various projects.
• Develop and maintain individual project budgets and project status reports.
 Interact with clients and maintain excellent client relationships.
 Demonstrate excellent problem-solving and time-management skills; combined with sound mechanical aptitude.
 Knowledge of engineering software and computer systems including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, MicroStation, and related applications.
 Demonstrate a proficient understanding of the Pennsylvania Act 537 Sewage Facility Planning process, NPDES and WQM permitting process.
 Design wastewater collection and conveyance systems, wastewater treatment and disposal systems, water storage, and distribution systems.
 Conduct hydraulic modeling of existing and proposed distribution and collection systems.

Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline from an accredited university.
 Required: - Possess an Engineer In Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
 Preferred: - Professional Engineer (PE) license.
 3+ years of progressive environmental engineering or related experience.
 Strong verbal and written communication skills.
 Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
 Must be available and willing to travel as needed.
 Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.
