Police Officer (Detective)

Duties

Conducts investigations to apprehend and/or detain persons committing crimes against persons and property.

Develops and follows leads, takes statements, and gathers information and facts.

Performs surveillance of suspects, crime scenes, and suspected or potential criminal activities.

Serves as Point of Contact (POC) for civil law enforcement agencies required to serve due process to military and civilian personnel on the installation.

Ensures that the audit trail is complete from initial receipt to final disposition of the case.

Accompanies significant evidence or exhibits to court and testifies concerning the chain of custody and assurance of non-compromise.
