Plant Operator (Shipper/Receiver)

Plant Operator (Shipper/Receiver) Location: Durham, NC (ASG) – Industrial spec gas Responsibilities Prepares and receives shipments, including all required documentation for compliance to US DOT regulations. Contributes to a safe work environment by completing all job assignments according to Airgas SOPs. Scraping, labeling and painting of cylinders. Moving of cylinders by usage of a cylinder cart and/ or forklift. Loading and unloading of trucks within a supportive team setting. Matching up receiving returns with common carrier paperwork. Ensuring all documentation matches cylinders. Supporting the team to ensure cylinders go out in a neat and presentable condition. Cylinder sorting. Ideally, you bring a basic understanding of CFR 49. Keeping a clean and orderly work area. Familiarity with Special permits. Basic computer operations for data entry and training. Utilizing basic calculations. Other collaborative duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Ability to coordinate efforts with multiple departments. Aptitude for high precision work. Ability to achieve HM 126 qualification. Ability to operate forklift and maintain forklift certifications. Ability to follow directions, make decisions, work in a team, and be reliable. High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum 1 year experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) or equivalent software. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to work all shifts; subject to all weather conditions. The associate is required to stand regularly, use hands and arms, talk or hear. The associate must lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to focus.
