CDL Driver

Position Overview At Foundation Building Materials (FBM), our CDL Drivers are essential—delivering materials safely, efficiently, and with pride. Key Responsibilities Vehicle Operation Safely operates company vehicles, including up to 26’ trucks, in compliance with DOT regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness. Deliver materials to customer project sites on time, providing excellent customer service. Additional training such as forklift and other equipment may be required. Basic understanding of forklift operation and other equipment. Delivery & Customer Service Unload materials at delivery locations and verify deliveries against packing slips. Ensure deliveries are handled professionally and courteously, always representing the company positively. Unload, protect, move and stage materials as directed by customers. Basic understanding of building materials. Safety Adheres to all driving regulations and state/jurisdiction policies, including seatbelt use. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment. Follows OSHA requirements and safety protocols. Uses proper lifting techniques. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment, safety shoes and clothing. Communication Attends and participates in all required meetings related to material delivery and company operations. Training Requirements Attends and participates in all required company training programs. Physical Job Requirements Frequent use of hands and arms for equipment operation, grasping and manipulation. Frequent driving or sitting in a truck, forklift or similar equipment for multiple hours a day. Occasionally lifts and/or moves 80 lbs and climbs ladders carrying up to 50 lbs. Pushing and pulling carts over various distances and surfaces; some functions may be performed as a team. Operates forklifts and other company vehicles, uses tools such as dollies, flat carts, and rock carts. Miscellaneous Supports company values of Safety, Customer Focus, Teamwork, Integrity, and being a Company of Choice. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL. Minimum 1‑year consistent commercial driving experience. Works well in a team environment. Compensation and Benefits Reports To: Branch Manager Compensation: The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position; actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and cost of living.
