Scheduler

Opportunity Avantor is seeking a Scheduler to perform planning and scheduling functions involved with coordinating products and materials through various production phases. The Scheduler will implement planned production schedules, labor loading and capacity requirements, and review schedules to determine materials and parts requirements to ensure availability according to schedules. This is a full‑time position based out of our Carpinteria, CA office. Responsibilities Implement planned production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements. Create, monitor, collect, and update progress on schedule for all equipment resources. Act as the main point of contact for site supply planning to support demand. Create and maintain Bill Of Materials (BOM) and NuSil Runsheets. Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, and QA to resolve material issues. Collaborate with manufacturing and materials management to ensure timely release of production orders and transfer requirements. Manage scheduling for inter‑site transfers and establish demand planning time fences. Collaborate with purchasing to expedite components and perform cumulative lead time analysis. Communicate the operational perspective in cross‑functional meetings and support OPX programs and manufacturing initiatives. Coordinate the delivery, assembly, and distribution of components and sub‑assemblies to support production flow and adherence to the Master Production Schedule (MPS). Revise SAP in‑stock dates as required and provide estimates based on component availability. Identify overdue material, expedite purchasing, and conduct root‑cause analysis of material shortages. Assist in troubleshooting inventory control issues and verify shipment details with suppliers. Research order and delivery discrepancies, resolve MRP‑related issues, and monitor adherence to schedule. Create and track supply chain metrics to ensure commitments are met and communicate results to key stakeholders. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. 1–2 years of SAP experience. 1–2 years of similar supply‑chain/logistics experience preferred. 3–5 years of QSS or WMS experience preferred. Warehouse equipment licenses preferred. Ability to read a bill of materials and assembly pick sheet. Familiarity with warehouse and inventory management systems required. Accuracy, thoroughness, and great attention to detail. Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, and policies. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and methods for maximizing efficient manufacture and distribution. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Mathematical proficiency and strong computer skills (Excel, pivot tables, lookups, formulas). Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple competing tasks. Benefits and Compensation Pay Transparency: The expected pre‑tax pay for this position is $57,500.00 – $92,575.00. Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
