Scientist III / Senior Laboratory Scientist

Position Summary
The Senior Laboratory Scientist performs advanced analytical activities, leads troubleshooting across multiple instruments, and supports method refinement. This role mentors junior staff, improves documentation, and assists in data review to support efficiency and quality in laboratory operations.
Responsibilities
● Lead complex instrument operation and troubleshooting (LC/MS, HPLC, GC)
● Perform intermediate‑to‑advanced method implementation and validation activities
● Draft and revise SOPs, work instructions, and method documentation
● Conduct detailed data reviews for accuracy, trending, and regulatory completeness
● Train junior staff on instrument operation and workflow best practices
● Oversee reagent inventory, ordering, and vendor coordination
● Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
*All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (Chemistry, Biology, or related field); advanced degree preferred
● 5+ years LC/MS experience in relevant testing fields
● Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and good documentation practices
● Excellent communication and mentorship abilities
Work Environment:
● This position is full-time on-site in New Haven, CT
