If you are driven, solution-focused, and a strong team player, we want to hear from you.Position SummaryThe Steel Erection Welder / Ironworker is responsible for installing, aligning, and welding structural steel components including beams, columns, and girders. This role requires experience in steel erection, blueprint reading, and certified welding practices in a fast-paced construction environment.Key ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret blueprints and specificationsInstall structural steel including beams, columns, joists, and deckingAlign steel components using levels, lasers, and plumb bobsPerform structural welding in accordance with project requirementsBolt and secure steel members into placeSignal crane operators to safely hoist materialsAssemble steel frameworks and structural componentsCut, bend, and weld steel using appropriate tools and equipmentSafely operate lifts, hoists, and other jobsite equipmentMaintain tools and equipment in proper working conditionFollow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditionsRequirementsWelding experience with current certifications or ability to pass weld testsExperience in structural steel erection preferredAbility to read and understand blueprintsKnowledge of rigging and signalingBasic to intermediate math skillsAbility to work at heights and in outdoor conditionsAbility to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding workMust be able to communicate in English (verbal and written)Tools RequiredBolt bagSpud wrenchBull pinsWelding hood (for welders)Tape measurePlumb bobCheater barPliers, clamps, and hammersBessey clampsVise gripsEqual Opportunity Employer: All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.Florida Atlantic Ironworks is a Drug Free Workplace where post-offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Florida Atlantic Ironworks is a participant in the Federal E-Verify Program.
