SITE MANAGER
The Site Manager provides field oversight for building automation projects and serves as a key liaison between the customer, general contractor, and onsite trades throughout construction and commissioning. This position helps coordinate field activities, resolve installation issues, and support successful project execution. When not assigned to an active deployment, the Site Manager may contribute to estimating, project planning, and controls engineering activities for upcoming work.
FIELD LEADERSHIP & CUSTOMER COORDINATION
- Act as the primary technical resource for customers, commissioning personnel, contractors, and other project stakeholders in the field.
- Support commissioning teams with technical guidance and issue resolution.
- Coordinate with trade partners to organize installation activities and establish work priorities.
- Attend project and commissioning meetings and contribute to discussions involving field execution.
- Build productive working relationships with customers, contractors, subcontractors, and internal personnel.
- Help coordinate onsite activities to keep installation and commissioning efforts moving according to project requirements.
INSTRUMENTATION & ELECTRICAL ACTIVITIES
- Review P&IDs, contract documents, and bid requirements to help establish project instrumentation requirements.
- Assist in selecting appropriate field devices, including temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters, flow transmitters, actuators, and related instrumentation.
- Review completed instrument and electrical panel installations for proper execution and completeness.
- Identify field conditions, installation deficiencies, and discrepancies requiring correction.
- Assist engineering personnel with resolving issues identified during installation and field execution.
COMMISSIONING & SYSTEM ACCEPTANCE
- Support customer demonstrations and system acceptance activities.
- Participate in point-to-point verification, loop checks, functional testing, and other commissioning procedures.
- Monitor field progress against the commissioning plan and help ensure required system testing is completed.
- Participate in meetings concerning field-driven design changes and modifications.
- Work with project teams and trades to address issues identified during testing and commissioning.
PROJECT & SITE OPERATIONS
- Assist with maintaining equipment procurement records, installation trackers, and other project-control documentation.
- Coordinate the receipt of equipment and materials at the jobsite, including verification and turnover to the appropriate personnel.
- Provide field support to MEP subcontractors and coordinate activities related to building automation installation.
- Maintain a working understanding of project scope, contractual requirements, and field deliverables.
- Follow and support customer-specific quality-control requirements and site procedures.
- Prepare clear and informative daily reports documenting site conditions, completed work, issues, and overall project progress.
- Assist with coordinating commissioning activities and maintaining alignment with the project schedule.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical degree or comparable education in an applicable discipline.
- Prior experience in site management, project management, construction coordination, or a related field.
- Hands-on exposure to low-voltage installation environments.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, schedules, and activities with customers, internal personnel, and project teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
- Familiarity with HVAC equipment and systems as they relate to large-scale building automation applications.
- Ability to interpret basic HVAC and plant-utility sequences of operation and P&ID documentation.
- General knowledge of HVAC instrumentation, field devices, and control valves.
- Exposure to building automation or industrial control platforms such as Rockwell, Schneider, AVEVA, or Inductive Automation is preferred.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience supporting onsite commissioning, system startup, or field acceptance activities.
