Director of Health & Wellness

Direct and manage the health and wellness department, schedules, staff time management, including nurses, medication technicians, caregivers, and memory care staff. Oversee scheduling, staffing patterns, and performance evaluations for care staff. Coordinate staff training, in-service education, and compliance with company policies and state regulations Ensure individualized care plans are developed, implemented, and updated as required by company policy and state specific regulatory agencies Monitor residents' health status, respond promptly to changes, and communicate with physicians and families Supervise medication administration processes, including ordering, storage, documentation, and audits Maintain accurate and confidential resident records in compliance with regulatory standards When urgent clinical, safety, or regulatory issues arise, the Director of Health and Wellness may exercise professional judgement to implement and document interim risk-mitigation measures to protect residents and staff when formally approved clinical guidance is not yet available. Train and mentor staff in dementia care best practices Maintain accurate and up to date clinical chart documentation as required by company policy and regulatory agencies In partnership with key leadership, act as a liaison between residents, families and healthcare providers to address concerns and coordinate services Any other tasks or duties assigned and support for other departments as needed. Participate in infectious disease mitigation training Ensure adherence to all health regulations, infection control protocols, and safety procedures Participate in admissions process and care planning for new residents Must be available to work weekends, other shifts as staff and census changes demand, and participate in the rotating on-call schedule Remain accessible by phone to respond to urgent matters Maintain a consistent presence in the community during scheduled shifts Must fulfill all duties assigned, to include Salus support
