Staff Nurse

The Wellness Center at Rowan University serves students in ways that support and affirm all their abilities and identities. Our ideal candidate possesses an understanding of intersectionality and how it impacts the daily lives of students.

Under the direction of the Wellness Center Director and the Managing Physician, and under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, the Staff Nurse will function as part of the health care team in providing acute healthcare services to Rowan University students year-round.

Candidates must be flexible to meet the needs of the Center during the weekday, evenings and occasional weekends. The successful candidate will triage and assess the health care needs of students, assist the physicians and nurse practitioners with evaluations and treatment of students, and provide health education to the students we serve. The Staff Nurse will consult with physicians and other members of the health care team, and make referrals as needed. The Staff Nurse will assist in several campus-wide health promotion initiatives, health education programs, and research and quality improvement activities.

Requirements:

• Current and valid New Jersey license as a Professional Registered Nurse (RN).

• Current CPR-Healthcare provider level.

Skills:

• Must possess competencies in RN clinical skills including:

• point of care testing

• understanding and following standing orders created by the managing physician

• health promotion education

• critical thinking, interpersonal skills across cultures

Preferred Qualifications:

• College health experience.

• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams.

• Experience with electronic health record systems.

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)

Salary and Benefits:

• In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is CWA: Range 20 ($61,510-$70,000), with placement within the range determined by candidate's qualifications, professional experience, internal equity, and other factors."
