Solution Engineer (Pre-Sales) - DataFoundation

About the Role Salesforce is seeking a Pre‑Sales Solution Engineer for the DataFoundation Pre‑Sales Solution Engineering team. The engineer will partner with Sales teams to align solutions with customer vision, deliver technical discovery, product demonstrations, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), workshops, and architectural recommendations. Responsibilities Conduct technical discovery and qualification meetings to document and clarify business and technical requirements. Deliver product demonstrations, PoCs, and customized solution presentations to technical and non‑technical audiences. Lead architectural discussions and provide white‑boarding and architecture workshop facilitation. Respond to RFIs/RFPs and functional/technical requests independently. Build trusted relationships with internal and external partners, qualifying deals and identifying business value. Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Product Marketing to improve solutions and marketing materials. Maintain deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors, positioning MuleSoft’s values accordingly. Provide post‑sales technical guidance to client teams to drive adoption and digital transformation success. Qualifications B.S. in Computer Science (M.S./Ph.D. preferred) or equivalent experience. Minimum 4years of professional experience in technical sales or solution engineering. Strong presentation and composure skills across technical and non‑technical audiences. Ability to establish trust with clients and influence key decision makers. Hands‑on Java development experience and ability to code and debug against Java APIs. Experience with cloud technologies (iPaaS, SaaS, cloud infrastructure). Experience building and delivering PoCs, responding to RFIs/RFPs independently. Ability to lead architectural discussions and workshops. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Willingness to travel as needed and work flexible hours. Pre‑Sales Solution Engineer/Sales Engineer background and Salesforce certifications are preferred. Benefits Competitive base salary with bonus potential and equity opportunities.
