Pediatrician – Inpatient Rehabilitation & Adolescent Behavioral HealthNexus Children's Hospital – Shenandoah, TexasNexus Children's Hospital is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pediatrician to join our growing team at our Shenandoah location. This physician will provide medical care for children and adolescents in both our inpatient rehabilitation program and our True North Program, a specialized adolescent behavioral health program.This is a unique opportunity to practice in a multidisciplinary setting caring for patients recovering from traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological conditions, medically complex diagnoses, and adolescents requiring behavioral health support in a structured therapeutic environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide medical management and daily pediatric care for inpatient rehabilitation and behavioral health patientsConduct admissions, evaluations, daily rounds, and discharge planningCollaborate with rehabilitation physicians, psychiatrists, nursing staff, therapists, case management, and clinical leadershipMonitor acute and chronic medical needs, medications, nutrition, and overall patient wellnessSupport adolescents in the True North Program through coordinated medical oversight in partnership with behavioral health teamsRespond to changes in patient condition and ensure continuity of careCommunicate with families regarding treatment plans, progress, and discharge readinessParticipate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and care conferencesSupport patient safety, quality improvement, and best clinical practicesQualificationsMD or DO from an accredited medical schoolBoard Certified / Board Eligible in PediatricsActive Texas medical license (or ability to obtain)DEA registration (or ability to obtain)Strong clinical judgment and compassionate bedside mannerExperience with medically complex pediatric patients preferredInpatient, rehabilitation, hospitalist, or behavioral health experience preferredWhy Join Nexus Children's Hospital – Shenandoah?Opportunity to impact both physical rehabilitation and behavioral health outcomesCollaborative multidisciplinary care modelMeaningful work with children, adolescents, and familiesSupportive leadership and mission-driven cultureFlexible scheduling options availableCompetitive compensation packageNexus Children's Hospital provides specialized pediatric inpatient rehabilitation and complex medical care for children recovering from traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological diagnoses, and other life-changing conditions.
