The Fabrication Shop Welder plays a crucial role in structural steel fabrication and custom metalwork projects, ensuring precision and quality throughout the welding process. This position involves hands-on work in welding operations, interpreting blueprints, preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and inspecting the finished products for quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding operations on structural steel and custom metalwork projects
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately
• Prepare materials for welding, including cutting and fitting parts
• Maintain welding equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Inspect welds and fabricated components to meet quality standards
• Collaborate with team members to complete fabrication projects efficiently

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in welding
• Vocational training in welding or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Welding certification such as AWS
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques
• Strong skills in blueprint interpretation
• Knowledge of welding safety standards
• Experience in metal fabrication and hand tool use
• High attention to detail, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities
