Operations Systems Product Manager

Product · Los Angeles · FullTime · Mid level A product manager for operations systems typically needs to map how work and information flow on a factory floor, then turn that into software that holds up under real production pressure. A strong candidate brings close observation of shop floor processes, clear communication with engineers and operators, and a habit of testing systems in live conditions. At a company building robotic factories and automated material fulfillment, that means helping connect quoting, cutting, and fulfillment into one dependable flow. How it fits the AI era AI can help predict bottlenecks, route jobs, and flag anomalies, but someone still has to decide what the factory needs and whether a system can be trusted when metal is moving. The role stays human in watching how people actually work, setting priorities, and judging when automation helps versus when it gets in the way. Product managers who can translate floor reality into clear requirements will shape how AI is used in production. How it builds AI experience This role builds AI experience by working with scheduling, quoting, and fulfillment systems that likely use optimization or learning components, and by seeing where those components fail on a real floor. A candidate can strengthen that by learning basic data flows, automation limits, and how to write requirements that make AI outputs checkable by operators. Experience with industrial software or robotics workflows would be directly useful.
