Bivocational Pastor
Are you a pastor with a heart for small churches and rural communities? Trinity Baptist Church in Lakeview, Oregon, is seeking a bivocational pastor who is deeply called to shepherd a faithful, though struggling, congregation. We are praying for a man who will not only preach sound doctrine, but who will also love our people well, engage our community, and walk with us as we seek a fresh move of God.
About Our Church:
Trinity Baptist Church was founded in 1961 and has faithfully served the Lakeview community for over 60 years. Today, our Sunday attendance averages 15–20. We are small and isolated, but committed to the work of the gospel. We have a functional church building with a sanctuary, classrooms, a fellowship hall with a kitchen, and a pastoral office.
We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and affirm the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). We are looking for a pastor who meets the biblical qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9 and who will walk in humility, faith, and love toward this congregation and community.
We Need a Shepherd Who Will:
Faithfully preach and teach God’s Word on Sundays and lead midweek Bible study
Provide spiritual leadership, vision, and pastoral care for the congregation
Be involved in the local community as a gospel presence
Participate in associational and state convention meetings as able
About Lakeview:
Lakeview is a beautiful, rural town in Oregon’s high desert. With a population of just over 2,000, it offers a slower pace of life, plenty of sunshine, outdoor recreation, and a close-knit community. Hunting, fishing, camping, and skiing are common pastimes. The nearest larger cities are Alturas, CA (45 min) and Klamath Falls, OR (90 min).
This Is a Bivocational Position
Due to limited financial resources, this is a bivocational role. Candidates will need to have or pursue additional employment or be retired with supplemental income. But what we offer is not just a position—it’s a people and a purpose. We are looking for a shepherd, not just a Sunday preacher.
