Cloud Data Architect

Salary: $118 - 150,872 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in computer science or a closely related discipline, along with at least five years of experience as a Cloud Data Architect.
• We require direct experience designing enterprise-scale data lakehouse or data warehouse solutions on Microsoft Azure, preferably within healthcare.
• We require a Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional certification, or an equivalent credential.
• We prefer an Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500) certification, or a comparable certification.
• We need strong experience architecting enterprise medallion data platforms on Microsoft Azure.
• We expect hands-on expertise in Databricks development and administration.
• We require solid data modeling knowledge, including Kimball dimensional modeling, star and snowflake schemas, and slowly changing dimensions.
• We look for experience with enterprise governance practices covering data quality, lineage, and metadata.
• We need proficiency in PySpark and SQL for scalable batch and streaming pipelines.
• We require familiarity with Azure data services such as ADLS Gen2, Data Factory, and Synapse.
• We expect experience with DevOps, Git, and CI/CD best practices.
• We need the ability to produce architectural documentation, including technical specifications, data models, policies, procedures, and diagrams.
• We value experience working in Agile environments and using Agile tools.
• We require knowledge of HIPAA and HITECH compliance in cloud architecture.
• We need strong technical leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• We expect the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

• We lead the design and implementation of scalable, enterprise-wide data architecture.
• We drive adoption of modern data architecture patterns and cloud-native solutions.
• We develop enterprise data management strategies, including data lake and data warehouse implementations, data movement, and data services.
• We define future-state data architecture roadmaps aligned with organizational strategy and modernization efforts.
• We enforce data quality, security, and consistency standards across our data platforms.
• We establish data access patterns such as serving layers, semantic models, and APIs to improve analytics and reporting.
• We participate in business analysis to gather data product requirements.
• We define reference architectures, coding standards, and reusable patterns for our data engineering teams.
• We review and approve solution designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
• We provide technical mentorship and design direction to engineers and analysts.
• We participate in data governance forums and contribute to standards and policies that support quality, security, and compliance.
• We collaborate with security and compliance partners to implement data classification, encryption, access controls, and audit logging.
• We ensure our data architectures comply with HIPAA and internal privacy requirements.
• We capture end-user needs and translate them into scalable, secure, and well-governed architecture solutions.
• We provide architectural expertise and leadership guidance to data engineering teams.

We are hiring a full-time remote Cloud Data Architect, with the selected candidate required to reside in North Carolina and travel to our Morrisville, NC home office for onsite team meetings as needed. This role offers a salary range of $118,000 to $150,872 annually, determined by education, experience, market data, and internal equity.
