Software Developer - Angular and RESTful API Specialist

Job Summary:

The Software Developer will design, develop, and maintain highly secure, high-performance, and scalable digital applications primarily using Angular, Restful API, Spring Boot, and Cloud-Native frameworks. This role supports the Criminal Justice Digital Design modernization program by delivering enterprise-grade solutions with a focus on accessibility, security, and integration across multiple platforms and systems. Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design, code, and unit test front-end and back-end application components and APIs.
  • Develop user interfaces using Angular and ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
  • Create and maintain detailed programming specifications, UI designs, and prototypes.
  • Participate in software design and documentation throughout the SDLC phases.
  • Implement and maintain secure, high-availability, and high-performance cloud-native solutions.
  • Assist with troubleshooting production issues, log analysis, and provide on-call support.
  • Collaborate in Agile environments including sprint planning, retrospectives, and JAD sessions.
  • Apply design patterns, best practices, and security standards in all development activities.
  • Support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) and test automation processes.
  • Transfer knowledge to team members and contribute to team development.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on software development experience, especially with secure, high-performance cloud solutions.
  • At least 5 years of experience with enterprise-grade application development using Restful API, Angular frameworks, and Microservice architecture.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Deep knowledge of Angular components, services, modules, routing, decorators, and latest best practices.
  • Experience with enterprise integration technologies such as JMS, AMQP, REST, and IBM Mainframe interfaces (e.g., IMS Adapter) in a Spring Integration context.
  • Strong skills in SQL and experience with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
  • Solid experience with Azure Platform as a Service (PaaS) for application delivery and operations.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing tools such as Selenium.
  • Understanding of security best practices including authentication, authorization, encryption, and OWASP standards.
  • Experience working in Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Knowledge of application security in cloud environments: OAuth2, Multi-Factor Authentication, SSO, JWT, TLS1.2, Digital Signature.
  • Hands-on experience with PDF generation and implementation.
  • Database administration, performance management, data cleansing, quality, and validation expertise.
  • Experience with containerized environments such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and cloud monitoring tools like Azure App Insights.
  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards (WCAG, AODA) and remediation tools like WAVE and AXE.
  • Knowledge of Lean principles and experience participating in sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Special Considerations:
  • Position is onsite with mandatory presence 7.25 hours per day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • On-call support responsibilities for troubleshooting and production issue resolution.
  • Compliance with security clearance requirements and contract timelines.
  • Work involves handling highly sensitive and secure digital products within the criminal justice domain.
Scheduling:
  • Standard Monday to Friday schedule, 7.25 hours per day within business hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
  • Five days onsite per week as a mandatory requirement.
