Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Adult Rehab Services unit, requiring a Physical Therapy degree and current BLS certification.

Details

• Acute adult rehabilitation department setting
• Rehab department staffed with 80-85 team members, including 11 travelers
• Typical staffing includes 15-16 OT/COTA staff per shift to meet patient demand
• Assigned caseload of 11-12 patients per 8-hour shift, with a goal of treating 8 patients
• Day shift schedule, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree in Physical Therapy required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire
• Minimum of one year of experience preferred
• Acute, trauma, travel, and/or critical care experience preferred
• License required if applicable
• Oklahoma license preferred
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy treatment techniques
• Ability to adjust equipment to meet individual patient needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient care and collaboration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include evaluating patients, interpreting physician orders, and developing individualized treatment plans
• Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as needed
• Participates in discharge planning and creates home exercise programs
• Documents treatment outcomes and patient responses in the medical record
• May supervise or mentor students during clinical rotations depending on experience level
• Maintains and cleans department equipment
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Full date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration
• Facility enforces strict credentialing and compliance deadlines, with no flexibility for start date delays
• 30-day written notice required for early assignment cancellation
• Extensions limited to one time for a maximum of 26 weeks, with a required 6-month separation before reapplying
• First-time travelers may be considered
