Financial Analyst 1The University of Miami School of Education and Human Development has an exciting opportunity for a full time Financial Analyst 1 to work in Coral Gables, FL.The Financial Analyst 1 compiles and analyzes financial information for the assigned school in an efficient and accurate manner. Moreover, the incumbent assists management in the decision-making process and strategic planning by presenting relevant financial reports in a clear, concise, and timely manner.Core responsibilities:Prepares and coordinates documentation of financial analysis projects such as budgets, forecasts, projections, expense performance, and presentations.Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings.Provides analytical support for forward-looking financial or business-related projects.Performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of accounts.Designs and builds various models that summarize several different scenarios around growth and expansion initiatives or opportunities.Develops and maintains performance and productivity dashboards, models or analyses.Collects, interprets and analyzes relevant data or metrics.May develop and maintain reports to support plans, business decisions, operational changes, strategic plans and new services.Resolves any reporting issues.Helps process purchase requisitions, journals, expense reports, purchase card reconciliations, payroll, and other transactions in the University's financial system (Workday).Makes recommendations to align policies and procedures with best practices and capitalize on financial opportunities.Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.Department Specific Functions:This role provides critical Academic Affairs support, including faculty hiring, payroll processing, and Faculty Affairs liaison functions.The position also manages key business operations such as scholarship award submissions, contract routing, purchase order submissions, etc.Additionally, the position would serve as HR Partner for students, overseeing hiring and payroll to support research and instructional activities involving students.This position will assist in key operational tasks such as reconciliation of corporate card transactions, contract routing through CONGA, etc.This position would serve as a critical partner to the Sponsored Programs Office by providing strategic financial guidance and support to grant-generating faculty.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.Core Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in relevant field requiredMinimum 1 year of relevant experience requiredLearning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.The University of Miami is recognized as one of the nation's premier research institutions and academic health systems and is among the largest employers in South Florida.With more than 20,000 faculty and staff, the University is committed to excellence and guided by a mission to positively impact the lives of students, patients, and communities locally and globally.We are dedicated to fostering a culture where every individual feels valued and empowered to contribute meaningfully.
