Part Time Radiation Therapist

This part‑time Radiation Therapist position is located at South Bay Radiation Oncology, affiliated with UC San Diego Health Physician Network, 959 Lane Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91914. The role focuses on delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care, administering radiation therapy protocols, and ensuring safety and quality. Responsibilities Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by the physician. Verify prescribed treatment dose and field angles before each session. Ensure proper placement of protective devices to shield healthy tissue. Simulate patients using simulator, CT scanner, or other devices to accurately localize treatment areas. Maintain accurate and detailed treatment chart documentation. Observe clinical progress, recognize and report any signs of complications. Adhere to radiation safety procedures and perform machine safety checks. Work closely with the Radiation Oncologist and the therapy team on treatment planning. Follow the Radiation Therapist Code of Ethics. Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and be available for on‑call duties when required. Support the team by accomplishing related tasks and meeting processing and reporting deadlines. Perform additional functions as directed by management. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience (preferred). ARRT Board certification (preferred). Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy technology. Certification in Radiation Therapy Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. At least two years of clinical experience in a similar setting (preferred). Demonstrated working knowledge of clinical decision‑making and technical problem‑solving. Compensation & Benefits Hourly pay range: $51.20 – $73.00. 401(k) contributions. Paid time off.
