Job Description
Travel Oncology RN is needed for 13 weeks to start ASAP in a facility in Virginia. VA or compact license is required. Shifts are 7-7 Rotating. 36 hours per week are guaranteed. Weekends (3-4 wknd shifts/6 wk schedule). BLS is required. Certifications: ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy provider card highly preferred. Oncology RN needed for Acute Care; Ratio 1:3/4 on days, 1:4 on nights; 28 general care and 6 progressive/stepdown beds. Minimum 2 years recent Oncology experience required. General medicine with some progressive care experience. Oncology and chemotherapy experience preferred. Competency with high acuity population. No first time travelers accepted. Basic Knowledge Assessment Test (BKAT) required. EMR is Cerner Cares for acute leukemia/lymphoma populations, solid tumor cancers and patients with symptom management related to their oncology diagnosis. Multiple blood products given, numerous central lines, chemotherapy infusions, Some palliative care, bone marrow transplant & medicine overflow patients are also admitted to the unit. Unit Description
SMOKE FREE FACILITY! Not allowed to smoke on campus.
Submission Documents to be included: Qualivis Submission Form, resume/application, skills checklist, references, updated NURSYS
RTO should be included at the time of submission (will be approved by unit manager on WOC; no other guaranteed time off. No time off will be granted during the first week of the traveler's assignment), SSN, DOB, address, phone, and email. Please also make sure to address the traveler's shift availability upfront.
BSN preferred.
Flu shot required; no declinations accepted. (October 1-March 3; dates may vary)
VCU has a natural nail policy.
All ER and Psych candidates are required to submit to fingerprinting as outlined in the code of Virginia, 37.1-183.3. The average turnaround time for the results is 15-20 business days. Candidates are NOT allowed to start with results pending. Please plan start dates accordingly.
VA or compact states (licensed candidates are preferred, but VCU will accept 30-day work authorization if the agency is on top of it to ensure that licensure is received within the appropriate deadline)
All compliance docs due 10 days prior to start by 5PM EST.
