As the Medical Receptionist , you will support the daily operations of a busy healthcare office by providing a welcoming and efficient experience for patients. You will manage patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, payments, referrals, and documentation while working closely with clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth office operations and quality patient service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet patients and manage check-in and check-out processes. Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and appointment information. Collect copays, balances, and other patient payments. Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments while helping maintain an efficient patient schedule. Process incoming and outgoing referrals, including insurance verification and provider communication. Scan, fax, and maintain patient and referral documentation accurately. Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to support smooth daily office operations. Complete end-of-day reports, payment reconciliation, and deposit preparation. Follow established privacy, security, and office opening/closing procedures. Other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous front office, administrative, or customer service experience preferred; healthcare experience is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach. Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to multitask. Comfortable scheduling appointments, handling payments, and maintaining accurate records. Basic computer skills and ability to learn scheduling and electronic health record systems. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Dependable, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently as needed.
