Job Overview Position: Rendering Generalist Maintenance – Production at Tyson Foods, Scranton. Pay Range: $18.95 – $25.80 per hour; Shift Pay: $2.00 or $3.00. Responsibilities Unload and wash all trailers, tankers, and reefers. Wash all areas of the plant using soap and a high-pressure water hose with 30 pounds of pressure or more. Monitor cookers and soap usage. Load trucks, maintain the control room, and complete accurate paperwork. Check lubrication on machinery, change oil and belts on gearboxes, perform equipment preventive maintenance and auger inspections. Assist maintenance personnel as needed while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Maintain a clean work area. Required Physical and Technical Skills Stand for long periods and lift up to 60 pounds. Shovel, climb stairs and ladders up to 30 feet, bend, stretch, reach, and work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and with odors. Operate a forklift or skid‑steer loader (certification required). Use basic hand tools and perform mechanical troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, welding/fabrication, wiring, motor controls, and conveyor maintenance. Have basic computer skills and ability to read and understand policies, procedures and regulations. Document information and communicate effectively with others, written and verbally. Shift Schedule Applicants must be willing to work one of the following crews: A Crew – Sunday – Tuesday 6:00a.m. – 6:00p.m.; Wednesday 6:00a.m. – 12noon. B Crew – Sunday – Tuesday 6:00p.m. – 6:00a.m.; Wednesday 6:00p.m. – 12midnight. C Crew – Wednesday 12noon – 6:00p.m.; Thursday – Saturday 6:00a.m. – 6:00p.m. D Crew – Wednesday 12midnight – 6:00a.m.; Thursday – Saturday 6:00p.m. – 6:00a.m. Qualifications At least 18 years of age. Mechanical and maintenance skills listed in work history or skills section on application. Proof of authorization to work legally in the United States. Ability to pass a urinalysis screening as part of the post‑offer health assessment. Willingness and ability to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
