Nonprofit Charity Seeking Fundraiser Event Committee Members

We are seeking volunteers who care about our mission in empowering underserved, under-resourced middle schooler's at sites across LA in need of our SEA (Successful Educational Achievement) Program. We provide a comprehensive approach incorporating academic tutoring and caring mentorship to struggling/failing middle school students in the mainstream classroom.

SEA Program participants could not otherwise afford the essential support we provide.

As a member of the Emily Shane Foundation fundraiser event committee, you will participate to your desired degree of involvement with planning and preparing for our twice yearly fundraiser events. You can take on as much as little as you choose, depending on your availability and schedule. We present two very different fundraising events each year. The next one will be a fall event in which we are participating charity. We need help with promoting people to walk/run/stroll under our foundation's name (during registration, there is a drop-down menu with The Emily Shane Foundation as an organization on behalf of which you are participating). It is called "Malibu Moves" and takes place over the weekend of 10/24 and 10/25 2026. Please contact us if you are interested. There are also many volunteer shifts available at the event - and our foundation much source as many as possible - so please let us know if you might be available. All volunteers can choose a specific shift (given days/times and many options over the weekend) and will be provided drinks, food and a t-shirt as well.

Our annual, gala event - "Wings Over Malibu" (our symbol is a butterfly), and will take place in April, 2027. We are still finalizing a date. It will be held at Duke's Malibu (as it was this year).

Note: you can help remotely, as our meetings are held via Zoom. Volunteers for Malibu Moves must be able to come to Malibu for their shift; for Wings Over Malibu - we aim for all involved to attend the event to help out when it is taking place, to help with set-up, guest check-in, etc.

We are open to whatever is possible!!
